Sagging skin is just a natural part of the aging process. Many people struggle with the inevitable: skin folds, creases, and other signs of aging. Treatments to get back the youthful look have existed for decades, but surgeries come with inherent risks, and the period of recovery post-surgery can also be painful. Luckily, modern technologies have created many additional options, such as Titan, that don’t require surgery.
What is Titan?
Titan is a machine that emits infrared light. It is a noninvasive treatment that focuses its light on loose skin to reduce laxity. You are essentially removing folds without a scalpel. This is the first light-based skin tightening procedure approved by the FDA. Several papers have been published regarding Titan.
How Does Titan Work?
Titan shines energy at a wavelength between 1100-1800 nm on the affected area. This deep thermal heating procedure delivers small laser pulses to the skin over the course of an hour or two. The rays delve underneath the surface skin to the dermis, which begins to contract the collagen, enhancing production. Patients will require more than one visit for the procedure, and packages of four treatments are available. However, it is not uncommon to see 0.5 – 1.0” of skin retract per visit!
Patients undergoing the procedure need no anesthetic. The skin may swell or experience some redness, but patients are free to go home or return to work immediately after it is over. Over the span of a few weeks, the skin will continue to produce collagen and heal itself, smoothing out the folds, wrinkles, and lines.
Who Can Use Titan?
Anyone can use Titan. If you would like a simple procedure to smooth out the lines in your face, arms, or other areas, consider using Titan. People who are unable to undergo surgery may also use Titan. In addition, Titan can be used to supplement other skin procedures like Limelight to drastically improve skin wrinkles and reduce pore size.
