The abdomen will always be an area which represents many problems for both men and women. Both sexes take part equally in the pursuit for that elusive flat and taught stomach, but it is in the pursuit in which women are naturally handicapped and destined to face a number of additional hurdles.
And pregnancy is high—if not top—of that list of hurdles. When bearing a child, in order to make room for the baby, the skin and muscle tissue around the abdomen stretches out—often resulting in saggy and excess skin. Those who have tried, will be well aware that diet and exercise are not enough alone to bring back firmness in the area. Tummy tuck surgery is the only way to tighten loose skin and restore that firmness.
So whether you are wanting to address a lack of flatness, or an excess of loose skin, with a post pregnancy tummy tuck—just —you can experience a complete transformation and make your tummy look better than it ever has before.
During the Surgery
The surgery begins with an incision being near at the pubic hair line. This is an effective way to conduct the surgery and also help hide the scar when wearing underwear and bathing suits.
The Dr. Whetstone will then tighten any abdominal muscles which have separated, and if desired, remove small amounts of fat with liposuction. After the abdominal muscles are tightened, the surgeon removes any excess skin.
Immediately after the surgery you will be able to see a difference, and over the following few months the results will only improve. Patients can expect to experience some discomfort and swelling post-op, but this can easily be controlled with oral medication. Within one to four weeks—depending on the individual—you will have fully recovered from the surgery and be ready to enjoy your new, flatter stomach and more streamlined physique.
